Authoring Studio
Helping founders, elders, educators, and business owners turn experience and stories into finished books, essays, letters, and legacy documents. This is a natural extension of the reading room, not a separate business.
Most people who have lived a full life — who have built things, raised people, survived hard stretches, and learned things the slow way — do not write it down. Not because they have nothing to say. Because they do not know where to start, or how to turn a life into a document that is worth reading.
The Authoring Studio exists for those people. It works with founders, business owners, elders, educators, and anyone who has something worth leaving behind — and helps them get it out of their heads and onto the page in a form that can be kept, shared, and returned to.
It is a collaborative process that stays close to the person's own voice. The shelf you are standing in now is evidence of what it produces.
Three Ways to Start
Legacy Book
Your story, your hard-won lessons, and what you want to leave behind — shaped into a short book you can give to family, pass to the next generation, or keep as a record of what you built and why it mattered.
Typically 80–150 pages. Built through a series of structured conversations, then written and edited until it sounds like you at your best.
Start a ConversationGhostwriting
You have the ideas and the experience. We do the writing. The result is a finished book, essay series, or manuscript — entirely in your voice, carrying your thinking, with your name on the cover.
This is a collaborative process, not a content service. It works best when there is something real to say and a person who knows it well enough to say it.
Start a ConversationLinkedIn Content
Your professional presence, written from your actual thinking and experience — not templated posts or generic industry commentary. Posts that sound like you because they are built from conversations with you, your existing writing, and what you actually know.
Available as a monthly retainer. Suited to founders, senior professionals, and business owners who have something worth saying but not the time to write it consistently.
Start a ConversationPossible Artefacts
These are the kinds of documents the Authoring Studio produces. Not all of them suit every person. The conversation determines which ones belong.
Short Personal Books
A short book — 80 to 150 pages — built around your experience, your field, or your life. The kind that gets passed to family, given to clients, or kept on the shelf for the next generation.
Family Legacy Letters
A written record of what you believe, what you have learned, and what you want to pass on. Can be a single long letter or a series of shorter ones. Meant to be kept.
Founder Essays
A set of short essays built around your experience in business — the real lessons, the decisions that shaped things, the things you wish someone had told you earlier.
Elder Story Collections
A gathered collection of true stories from a long life. Organised, edited, and presented in a form that can be read by family, community, or future readers who were not there.
Wisdom Interviews
A structured interview process that draws out the knowledge and experience you carry, and turns it into a readable document. Good for people who find it easier to talk than to write.
Gift Books
A short book made specifically for giving — to a son or daughter, a grandchild, a team, or a community. Personal in tone. Practical in content.
Youth & Family Reflection Documents
Guides and reflection pieces written for young people or families — rooted in your own experience and values, formatted for the people you most want to reach.
Business Legacy Documents
A record of what your business is, how it was built, and what it stands for — written in plain language for the people who will carry it forward.
Who the studio is for
The studio works best with people who have something real to say and have not yet found the right way to say it. Typically:
- Founders and business owners with thirty or more years of experience in a field
- Elders who want to leave a written record for family
- Educators and professionals who have developed a body of knowledge worth passing on
- People facing a significant transition — retirement, illness, the end of a business — who want to capture something before the window closes
The studio does not work with people who want content for marketing purposes, or who are looking to build a personal brand. This is legacy work, not promotional work. The distinction matters.
How to start a conversation
If this sounds like something you have been thinking about, the best way to begin is a short note through the contact page. Describe in a few sentences what you want to make, who it is for, and roughly what your timeline looks like.
Not every inquiry can become a project. But every serious note will be read carefully and answered honestly.
